. 384 West Main Street, Crisfield, Maryland 21817 410-251-1669 =========================== East Coast Consulting is always looking for professional writers to join our staff. Or even people who simply love to write. That is the company's first requirement. Enjoy what you do. We value employees who are flexible and willing to learn, who are able to function as part of a team, and who are trustworthy. Our staff works from their own homes and are responsible for keeping track of their own hours. Writers work anywhere from 10 to 30 hours per week on grant proposals, business plans, website text, and newsletters. Occasionally, there are editing or research assignments. Individuals interested in working for East Coast Consulting should send Charlotte Scott a resume and a writing sample via email. The writing we need is usually not creative, except occasionally for website text. Mostly, we require brisk, concise business and technical writing. East Coast Consulting treats its employees with respect and gives them the trust and support they need to succeed as part of a team within the company. Employees share in the success of each project and receive a portion of the company's profit. We give an additional 10% of our profits to churches, charity, and other worthy causes as well. Bonus Schedule November 15 and May 15 each year Employees receive bonuses twice a year. Bonuses are paid near the middle of November based on the company's profit for May through October. Bonuses are paid near the middle of May based on the company's profit for November through April. Bonus Formula To arrive at an employee’s bonus payment the company determines its net profit (total revenue minus payroll, expenses, and taxes for the six-month bonus period) and then distributes 25% of it among the employees. Bonus payments are based on an employee’s contribution to the company as measured by his or her percentage of the company’s payroll during the six-month period. This figure reflects the pay level of the employee as well as the total number of hours worked during the period. For example, if five employees all earn the same wage and work an equal number of hours, the bonus percentage for each will be 20%. If the company’s net profit is $40,000, 25% of it, or $10,000, will be distributed so that each employee receives a 20% share. They each get a six-month bonus of $2,000. However, an employee earning a higher rate of pay or working more hours would have a larger bonus percentage than an employee who earns a lower rate of pay or works fewer hours. In that case, the first employee’s bonus percentage might be 30% and the second one’s might be 10%. The bonus percentage may change as employees receive raises or begin working more hours. If additional employees join the team, the bonus percentages might go down, but the total profit amount may go up because theoretically more employees will result in increased profits. Charity Formula East Coast Consulting is committed to giving 10% of its profits to churches, charities, and other worthy causes. Ten percent of the net profit is set aside for charitable contributions. Company ownership determines where 75% of the donations will go, with employees determining how the remaining 25% of the donations get distributed. The amount each employee can designate is based upon his or her bonus percentage. For example, if the company’s net profit is $40,000, a total of $4,000 will be set aside for charity. The employees will determine where 25%, or $1,000, of the donations will go. If an employee’s bonus percentage is 20%, he or she can decide where $200 gets donated during the six-month period.
